Here are just a few of the milestones achieved along the way.
1987 - Segue Software opens as a small consulting firm. Its five employees provide software services to clients moving from DOS to the Unix platform.
1988 - Segue Software adds the "Inc." by incorporating its operations.
1993 - Segue debuts its first product, QA Partner (now SilkTest), for testing client/server applications.
1995 - QA Partner is awarded the PBDJ Seal of Excellence from PowerBuilder Developer's Journal.
1996 - Segue goes public with an initial public offering of common stock valued at $18 per share. It also introduces QA Radar (now SilkRadar) for tracking defects in client/server software.
1997 - Segue launches QA Performer (now SilkPerformer) for load testing client/server software. After expanding its testing tools to support Web-based applications, Segue re-brands its product line with the "Silk" family name. The company is also named to the National Technology Fast 500 and the New England Fast 50 in light of its rapid growth.
1998 - Segue receives the second of two patents for automated GUI testing (the first of which was awarded in 1997).
1999 - SilkTest wins the Editor's Choice Award from Java Developer's Journal for "Best Java Testing Tool". Segue publishes its first book on eBusiness reliability based its hands-on experience and announces a new consulting program based on its best practices. The company also adds its 30th strategic partner as it continues to attract world-class system integrators, consulting organizations, and value-added resellers to deliver its solutions to the global market.
2000 - Segue earns its third U.S. patent for SilkTest Virtual Object Recognition technology.
2001 - Segue introduces SilkVision for application monitoring and SilkTest International based on the Unicode standard for verifying the accuracy of localized versions of global applications. The company also expands its efforts to attract sales channel partners and resellers by launching its new SilkElite partner program.
2002 - Segue unveils its new test management solution, SilkPlan Pro.
2003 - To continue meeting the needs of its 2,000-plus customers around the world, Segue introduces two more products: SilkPerformer Lite and SilkPerformer Component Edition. Meanwhile, SilkTest wins Software Development Magazine's Jolt Productivity Award and the SD Times 100 Award.
2004 - Segue is once again named to the SD Times 100, by being awarded SD 100 status. Further, once again highlighting the strength of Segue's technology, Borland awards Segue "2004 Technology Partner of the Year" at the 15th annual Borland Conference held September 11-15 in San Jose, California.
2006 - Borland Acquires Segue Software
